KUD NUM at the festival In Memoriam prof. Peter Hafner - VELIKANI_PLASTIČNE KRAJINE

We invite you to the ecological sound performance for the whole family "Giants_Plastic Landscapes" by Ajda Tomazin - see you at the Square after the Castle on Friday, 19 July at 6 pm!
Learn about the giants of the plastic landscape - man, cloud and iceberg - and how our actions have future consequences on the other side of the planet through the cause and effect relationship - the Butterfly Effect. The giants are metaphors for conscious and unconscious human action (what we initiate, how we develop it through a process of awareness). Through a poetic dance-visual story, we will apply our actions - how discarded waste contributes to the breaking of an iceberg, to climate change, or to the creation of islands of plastic in the ocean. Giants are "sewn" from recycled plastic bags. Suitable for adults and children, the production is ecologically critical and sustainable.
The project has its origins in the work of choreographer and designer Ajda Tomazin with the Net in Work art studio in Frankfurt, Germany (2011-2014), in 2020 she developed a dance installation with headphones ICEBERG_the giant in public space - which was part of the UKREP Festival and the Reciklart Festival in Ljubljana; and in Kranj as part of the Kalejdoskop and BIEN Kranj festivals. The project VELIKANI _ plastic landscapes, following the concept of recycling ideas, draws inspiration from previously internationally recognised projects that build interdisciplinary artistic practices for the youngest and other generations. The performance is co-created and danced by dancer and teacher Špela Premelč, with original music by the duo Drejc Pogačnik and Sašo Tepina.
This eco-sound dance performance is aimed at both adults and children and is about the consequences of human actions on one side of the planet and the other (the butterfly effect theory). Through a poetic dance-visual composition, it raises awareness - how discarded waste contributes to the breaking of icebergs, climate change and the creation of islands of plastic in the ocean.
