NIKO NOVAK is the poet of life on the wild side and the archetype of the barfly who once sat on Tom Waits' travelling coat before he irretrievably hooked up with theatre intellectuals. This is also his poetics of the urban cowboy, within which he likes to indulge in sin and punishment, and through which he communicates with the demons of the past.

BELVOIR is an experimental pop project from Paris that combines French chanson with electronic rhythms with an industrial patina. The French duo's open arrangements question the definition of a contemporary pop song. Tense programmed rhythms and bubbling synths merge into an amalgam of screams, anger and noise. The duo's songs gravitate around politico-poetic declamations that add the emotional depth of classical chanson to their contemporary sound.
